Ashby Fire Department is located in the city of Ashby, county of Grant, state of Minnesota.  Ashby is 180 miles northwest of
Minneapolis and 75 miles southeast of Fargo, ND along Interstate 94 in west central MN.  Ashby's volunteer department was
formed in 1883. Operating out of one station apparatus includes  2 pumpers, 1 tanker, 1 rescue, 2 four wheel drive
mini-pumpers, and 2 ambulances.   The department offers fire suppression and rescue services to the city of Ashby and its
surrounding fire district.

Ashby Ambulance, formed in 1962, is a BLS (Basic Life Support) Fire Department based service that operates out of the same
station.   The service is staffed by EMTs from the Fire Department and the community (20 of 24 Ashby firemen are EMTs).   If
needed, Paramedics from Fergus Falls or Alexandria are available to intercept with us to provide more advanced care.   The
coverage area for the ambulance service is much larger than the fire district and includes some of our neighboring
communities.  The mission of the ambulance service is to provide 24 hour emergency pre-hospital care and transport to the
nearest appropriate facility.  We are fortunate to have 3 regional hospitals available and 3 helicopter services at our disposal for
transport to level I and II trauma centers.
